WA: Man appears in Perth court over shooting

A 26-year-old man's appeared in court over a drive-by shooting .. outside a Perth fast
food restaurant.

A 16-year-old boy was treated for a gunshot wound in his leg .. after a shot was fired
outside a McDonald's restaurant in Mirabooka .. just before 10 o'clock on Thursday night.

Police say STEVEN MICHAEL MERENDA .. from Dianella .. was charged with unlawful wounding
.. going armed to cause fear .. and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

East Perth Magistrates Court yesterday remanded him in custody .. to reappear in the
same court on Thursday.
